A tech pack is the blueprint a factory follows to make your garment. Here is what goes in one, why it matters and how to make yours for free.

Why factories ask for one
Words like “heavyweight” or “oversized” mean different things to different people. A tech pack replaces guesswork with numbers and pictures, so your quote is accurate, your sample is right the first time and every reorder matches.
What to include
| Section | What goes in it |

| Style information | Brand, style name and number, product type, season, fit and target delivery date. |
| Sketches | Front and back drawings or photos, plus close-ups of details like pockets and zips. |
| Bill of materials (BOM) | Every material: main fabric with composition and weight (GSM), rib, lining, thread, zippers, drawcords, labels. |
| Colorways | Each color version, with Pantone references for body, trims and artwork. |
| Artwork and placement | Each logo or graphic, its method (embroidery, screen print, puff print), size and exact position. |
| Measurements and grading | Points of measure for each size with tolerances. Our size chart builder creates this for you. |
| Construction | Stitch types, seams, finishing, washes and shrinkage notes. |
| Labels and packaging | Neck label, care and content label, hang tags, polybags, barcodes and carton marks. |
| Order quantities | Pieces per size and color. |
Common mistakes
- Measurements without saying how they are taken (flat or all the way around).
- No tolerances, so nobody knows what counts as correct.
- Artwork sizes missing, or placement described as “on the chest” without a distance from the collar.
- Forgetting labels and packaging until after production.
